- Thinking of renovating your bathroom?
- Looking for bathroom accessories that are affordable and of the highest quality?
Then this post will interest you. Gone are the days when the toilet is often overlooked during the renovation process because of our limited renovation budget. Today, many Singaporeans appreciate the cozy comfort of having a well renovated bathroom. And for those who can well afford, splurging on sanitary fittings and accessories is no longer uncommon.
For myself, I’ve always appreciated nice bathrooms. I live in a relatively new condo with bathroom renovations already provided for by the developer. Thus, in recent years, I never had to shop for sanitary fittings or fixtures. It therefore never occurred to me to write this blog post, until…
Inspiration Behind this Bathroom Accessories Post
The inspiration came about, after a friend sent me her wish list of things she preferred as gift for her daughter’s wedding. The list contained things needed for the renovation of their new home, all of which are from this website – bathroomaccessories.com.sg.
I visited the website, thinking merely of picking up an item on that list as my gift to her but ended up in awe, realizing that bathroom technology has progressed so much since my childhood days when my parents had to boil water just so that I can enjoy a hot bath. Indeed the technologies behind the latest faucets, mixers and showers heads make those in my home appear dated in comparison. Gone are the days when a tap is just a tap. Other than having aesthetically pleasing designs, these days taps, shower heads and other bathroom fittings boast of many innovative features. Those that caught my eye includes…
Water Savings
Saving on water without compromising on overall shower experience? I never once thought this was possible. After all, common sense tells me that you’ll need a certain minimum level of water pressure to enjoy a good shower. I was wrong. With GROHE’s proprietary Champagne Spray showerheads, air is cleverly infused with water to create bigger but softer droplets. With more air, less water is needed to give you the same refreshing rain shower we all crave for after a hard day at work.
More importantly, less water also means less energy is needed for heating purposes; you get to save on electrical bills too!
Thermostatic Capabilities
We have all experienced a sudden drop or surges in water temperature while bathing, This is usually due to a sudden change in water pressure. Often when this happens, we usually get an unpleasant thermal shock, which can spoil our otherwise relaxing shower. In the worst case scenario, we risk scalding ourselves. This is especially so with young children or the elderly with more sensitive skin.
With thermostatic shower mixers, sensors are in place to detect these surges and drop in water pressure. This in turn allows you to enjoy a shower or bath at your preferred preset water temperature at all times. Also, with these mixers, you do not have to fiddle around to arrive at your preferred water temperature. Less, fiddling while in the bath means less water used and once again savings in your utility bills.
Cool Touch Technology
With this feature, GROHE has ensured that their taps, mixers and showerheads remain safe to touch, even when used at the maximum water temperature level. If you share your home with the elderly or young kids, you will want to have bathroom accessories with cool touch technology to keep them from being scalded while in the bathroom.
Surface Protection
Chrome sanitary fittings may succumb to corrosion and peeling. While they will still function, nothing is more unsightly than having corroded fittings, especially in a well renovated bathroom. I was thus very impress with GROHE’s Starlight Technology. Through perfecting their plating technology over 75 years, they are now able to make bathroom accessories and fittings that look as good as new, even after decades of use.
The above are some of the features that caught my attention while browsing through their bathroom accessories website. I didn’t know such features existed before and I’m sure many of you are unaware too. By blogging about it, I hope to share this knowledge and in turn benefit those who intend to renovate their bathroom.
